Jamie S. Perry, Director

Jamie S. Perry has been a full-time professional artist since 1982.  She received her Bachelors Degree in Sculpture and Anthropology from the University of Illinois, and her Masters Degree in Expressive Therapies from the University of Louisville.  For the next 7 years, Jamie worked as a  Registered Art Therapist at mental health centers and in private practice.   She met her husband (also a licensed therapist) while working with a mutual client.

With Michael’s support she realized her life-time dream of becoming a working artist.  They quit therir jobs, and moved into a 22’ motorhome with their cats, Gilda and The Kid.  They exhibited Jamie's imaginative, award-winning colored pencil CAT drawings at juried fine arts & craft shows, community events, national festivals, and cat shows.

After years of criss-crossing the country and the unexpected passing of her husband, Jamie decided it was time to stay put and explore the local art scene in Sonoma County, their home base of 35 years.  As she was beginning to acquaint herself with programs that would benefit from her skills, the fires of 2017 destroyed her Glen Ellen home, studio, and almost everything she owned.   Jamie is building a new life in Roseville (CA), with her cat, Whoopi.  She is developing “Drawing Freestyle”, a multi-leveled online art course, and workshops in colored pencil drawing
